Big Day Out

On the 21st July we held our annual Big Day Out. Every year our brilliant Youth Support Team organise a big summer party to remember. We recently celebrated our 6th Birthday and with every year that has gone by this event has just got bigger and better. We always make sure it is a special day for everyone, with the hope of creating some fantastic memories for our children and young people. We know how important these events are in terms of building our ‘family feel’ agency that we pride ourselves on.

This year was our biggest one yet with over 100 staff, foster carers, children and young people in attendance. The youth team had organised a wide range of activities to cater for all ages. Throughout the day we had Bhangra dancing with V.J. which was a huge success with everyone who took part (and who watched), we had a visit from the Worcester Young Fire Fighters who showed everyone around the fire engine as well as doing a demonstration for us all, as you can imagine this was a massive hit with all of the children.

Later in the afternoon we were joined by the Animal Man who brought an array of different animals for the children and young people to hold and have a cuddle with. The team had also arranged donkey rides for the children, Total Wipe Out, football and outdoor laser tag. These activities went on throughout the day and were a definite hit with everyone at the big day out.

As it is always a firm favourite at all of our events we had our very own arts and crafts area with our children and young people making dream catchers and door signs. We also welcomed back our extremely talented face painters. They are always so popular at all of our events.

We were all well catered for with a huge buffet of hot food, cake and a vast choice of ice creams (we even had unicorn ice cream which was delicious).

The day ended with our annual rounder’s match where everyone got involved. This event really does make you feel proud to be a part of the CAF Family. It’s on days like these that you realise that we aren’t your average fostering agency, what we do is something above and beyond other agencies.
