Octopus Rolls

What You Need:

Get Ready

Cover your table with newspaper or an old cloth to keep it clean.

Colour the Roll

Paint the toilet paper roll with your favourite colour. You can also use markers if you like.

Let the roll dry completely.

Make the Tentacles

Stand the toilet paper roll up.

Use a pencil to draw 8 lines from the bottom of the roll up halfway. These will be your octopus’s legs.

Carefully cut along the lines with scissors to make the tentacles.

Shape the Tentacles

Bend the cut pieces outward to make them look like octopus legs.

You can curl the ends of the tentacles by wrapping them around a pencil and then letting go.

Add the Eyes

Glue on googly eyes near the top of the roll.

If you don’t have googly eyes, you can make eyes from construction paper. Cut out circles and draw black dots in the middle. Glue them on.

Decorate Your Octopus

Use markers, stickers, glitter, or anything else you like to make your octopus look cool.

You can draw a mouth, add spots, or anything else to give your octopus a fun look.

Finish Up

Let all the glue and decorations dry before you play with your octopus.

Make a bunch of octopuses in different colours and sizes for extra fun!

Tips

If you need help cutting the tentacles, ask an adult.

To help your octopus stand up better, you can glue a piece of cardboard to the bottom.

Have fun making your new octopus friends!
